MALAYSIAN-FINNISH BUSINESS COUNCIL (MFBC)

 

Mission

 

EUROCHAM Malaysia was founded in 2003 with the mission to promote, support and develop EU business interests in Malaysia, as well as facilitate trade, commerce and investments between the EU and Malaysia. In order to fulfil its mission, EUROCHAM carries out activities that will catalyse and stimulate the networking of European companies in Malaysia with the Malaysian business community, business associations, relevant ministries, official representations and other Chambers.

 

Sectorial Committees

 

EUROCHAM's Industry Committees are platforms of specific sectors that meet regularly to discuss issues affecting their particular industries, hold seminars with guest speakers from the government, academia and business corporations, and actively lobby with the government and public sector organizations. 

 

Each committee produces a Trade Issues and Recommendations Positions Paper, outlining the most pressing business problems and recommendations for the government to work towards reducing these issues. The various Position Papers drafted by the Committees are then annually compiled into a "EUROCHAM Trade Issues & Recommendations" –paper, that is circulated among Government administrations, relevant authorities in Malaysia and the European Commission in Brussels.

 

EUROCHAM currently has the following Industry Sector Committees: Aerospace, Automotive, Green Building, Healthcare, Human Resources, Logistics & Transportation, Research & Innovation, Smart Technologies / Smart Grid, and Wine & Spirits. The committees act from the fundamental values of transparency, openness and sincerity, and they all work under the constraints of antitrust laws, thus discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition are not accepted.

PR & Marketing

 

The annually published EU-Malaysia Business Directory includes all EUROCHAM member companies’ profiles – more than 300 companies in EU-Malaysia trade and is distributed to all EU Member States’ Embassies and Consulates, the Delegation of the European Commission, local Government administrations and Ministries. The publication is also sold through EUROCHAM and selected bookstores.
